Chinese heritage restaurant, antique & art gallery

The first thing to greet visitors to Precious Old China, located in KL’s Central Market, is two century-old stone lions from southern China. As one steps in, a massive hardwood bar counter and tall teak cabinets flank the sides. Turn left at the end through the Malaccan panels inlaid with stained-glass, and be amazed with the large dining area filled with antique furniture, fittings and art pieces from the 19th and early 20th centuries.

The food is equally nostalgic, drawing mainly from nyonya baba cuisine. Originally Chinese migrants from centuries ago, they adapted their cooking to include Malay spices and coconut milk. The restaurant is especially proud to serve favourites such as ju hu char, fish head curry and pucuk paku kerabu. The food and impressive atmosphere combine to make this a popular destination for both tourists and locals looking to entertain.
