Kissaten would always be my choice ...

Kissaten would always be my choice if I would wanna go for a laid back, cozy place to eat. They are quite famous for their pork burger (you won't miss it on the menu!) and for the price you are paying (around rm10) it is definitely value for money. Portion and taste wise = yums! The one dish that I was surprised about was their dessert. Caramel Pudding to be exact. It tasted way better than what I expected & comparatively one of the better ones out there! :) Please give this a try if...

Caution though, if you are seated outside during the non - peak hours, might need a lil bit of time/patience for the waiters to serve you. That aside, if you are looking for a spot with no one breathing down your neck behind, outside is definitely a good spot. (not sure if it's a non smoking zone though)

Good choice within Jaya One!

This place is a bitch to get to, being located in the strange architecture of Jaya One. There is a valet service somewhere near the upstairs restaurant, just that everything is situated in such a confusing manner. You have to climb a flight of stairs to enter the restaurant or go through the maze trying to find the elevator - not the best place for disabled access (something of great concern to me). There is a valet service somewhere near the upstairs restaurant, just that everything is situated in such a confusing manner. You have to climb a flight of stairs to enter the restaurant or go through the maze trying to find the elevator - not the best place for disabled access (something of great concern to me). First time I went there, I was surprised by the fact that they carry Paulaner Salvator, a favourite beverage. This time they did not have that anymore, I was a bit let down. The pork kissburger tasted predominantly of the sweet teriyaki sauce and rich Japanese mayonaisse. The burger was huge and it was a generous chomp - I gave a quarter of my burger to the hungry monhan and still felt stuffed! The katsu curry rice is spicier than the authentic Japanese standards which suits local taste just fine, the breaded pork is not exactly the way it should be but it is as good as you can find them in Malaysia I beleive. I enjoyed the salted lemonade 7UP!! There were many other things I was tempted to order, the pastas, some cold salted pork slices, some sausages and the onsen egg. Of course I only have 1 udder and am not trying to emulate a cow. It is not really a place for quiet chats as they attract many young folks who turns up in groups. That brings me to wonder if they participate in any Groupon offers..

Very interesting Japanese cafe.

With a name like "Kissaten", which means a "light cafe", I really didn't expect much. To my pleasant surprise, though, it actually had a fairly extensive menu that included many traditional Japanese dishes to the assortment of drinks and desserts you would expect from a cafe. I had the miso ramen with gyoza set and my partner had the chicken katsudon. Definitely not at a level you can compare to Japan, but it was decent enough. The drinks were quite small, something I guess they remained true to Japan in. Kissaten is located on the second floor, and you can either access it directly from the second floor or take its first floor entrance which brings you up a flight of stairs. If you're looking for it from the first floor, it may be a bit hard to find at first glance. The interior is very Japanese. White, bright, and clean. The service is...NOT Japanese, which is sad, since that's the most important aspect of a Japanese establishment. Pricing is on the higher end, but I suppose if you're looking for a little trendy and cozy place to have your lunch with your girlfriend, this place does the trick.

Decent ramen

When I first learnt of Kissaten, it was from the small outlet at Lot 10 Hutong food court. At first this was one of the better ramen you can get locally but with more and more ramen specialty shops showing up, the ramen is now overshadowed by many. But the ramen sets are worth it. The other food they have is still pretty ok.

Tried some of the dishes here and they were pretty good! That hotpot thing with veggies inside was GOOD... the ramen was ok, not the best but it was decent.
